Narrative Portraiture

Everyone's story matters and deserves to be told.  A well constructed narrative portrait is able to tell its subject's story in one image.   Narrative portraits convey personality, presence, and emotion.  They are not contrives, instead they are authentic, believable, and honest.  They force the viewer to feel the image more than see it.  They awaken one's senses and remind us of what it means to be human.  They are simple, strong and true.  Arnold Newman once said, "We don't take pictures with our cameras, we take pictures with our hearts." and in no other genre is that more true than narrative portraiture.
