Born and raised in New Hampshire, I have called the seacoast area my home since 1997. I currently live in Stratham, NH with my wife, three children, and two very excitable labs. In addition to photography, I have been a teacher and school official in and around Exeter for the better part of 20 years.
I have been serious about photography since 2000, first taking pictures of my children, then developing a passion for landscape, citiscape, and portrait photography. Most weekend mornings I can be found somewhere between Plum Island, MA and Portland, ME trying to capture beautiful moments along the New England coast 1/100th of second at a time.
My motivation right now is about being present and finding the time to capture more of these beautiful moments. I am most often alone when I shoot, watching the most amazing sunrise, listening to the sounds of a deep forest, or waiting for the lights of a nearby town ignite as blue hour descends upon us. It is me, in that moment, at that time, being present and it is not unusual for me to spend hours there or return to a location multiple times, just to make an image when the scene is at its most epic moment.
That is what being a photographer means to me. It’s about being present and capturing beautiful moments to share with those who are not with me. I'm always grateful and flattered when someone buys an image of mine, but whether or not an image is bought, no one will ever take the time and moment away from me that I spent making that image.
